Yuksel Teknik Refrigeration Mechanical Engineer M.Sc. Ahmet Uludogan: "Our industry is an important element of the Turkish economy with its dynamic, dynamic, developing domestic market and increasing exports in international markets."

We had an interview with Mechanical Engineer Ahmet Uludogan, where we had the opportunity to talk about the situation and future of the refrigeration industry and the future targets of Yüksel Teknik Cooling.

As a company serving in the refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation sector, your product range Could you tell us about the services you offer and the services you offer?

As Yüksel Teknik, we have been operating in the sector since 1996. Yüksel Teknik, one of our companies operating in three different areas as Yüksel Teknik, Rosenberg and Thermoway; It is the representative and distributor of world-renowned brands. In our company, we act as the solution partner of the "Cooling Market" , where all the products from A to Z that the industry needs can be supplied. In addition, with the brands "coldflex" , "coldthermflex" , "coldgauge" , "coldswitch ", "coldflex-cover" that we produce under our own license and brand, we have largely blocked the way of imports from abroad.

Can you tell us about your domestic and international sales activities? What types of areas Are you selling products?

Turkey is strategically located in a very important place. The demand for Turkish products is increasing worldwide. In addition to participating in important fairs and trade delegations, we increase the brand awareness of our companies through the media. The wide variety of our product range, thanks to well-known brands, increases the sales capability of our company. We are currently exporting to more than fifty countries around the world.

How was the first half of 2019? What would you like to say about your realized goals and projects on behalf of your company?

Even though our domestic market has started to slow down since the middle of last year, we did not deviate much from our goals, thanks to our realistic attitude, our ability to reach the markets we have determined, and the measures we have taken. In line with the demands of the sector, our projects continue continuously in the companies within our structure.

When you evaluate the Turkish refrigeration sector in general,   what can you say What's new in the industry in the last few years?

Our industry; It is an important element of the Turkish economy with its dynamic, vibrant, developing domestic market and increasing exports in international markets. It constitutes one of the most important export branches of the machinery manufacturing sector. In addition, it directly increases the number of employment seriously. Regarding the recent innovations; The demand for energy efficiency, remote control, monitoring and environmentally friendly cooling systems is increasing, in addition, the capacities of the systems are growing.

"Unfortunately, THIS IS A BLEEDING WOUND OF OUR INDUSTRY"

Do you think companies operating in the refrigeration sector are making sufficient investments for the development of the sector?

Unfortunately, this issue is a bleeding wound of our industry. The high level of competition pushes companies to focus on surviving rather than investing.

Could you also tell us about your view on competition in the sector?

The HVAC-R industry has become a necessity due to global warming and the increase in agricultural and animal product prices. For example, while air conditioning was an option in vehicles at first, it is now standard. Unfortunately, our industry cannot use this advantage. In addition to those that make quality products, there are companies that only make products to save the day. These prevent the sector's profitability and future investment opportunities. All stakeholders need to focus on this issue.

How do you follow the technological developments in your sector ? What kind of activities do you carry out to act in accordance with technological developments?

The fact that our foreign relations and network are wide makes it easier for us to obtain information about all kinds of innovations and technological developments. Our visits are also very beneficial. We make innovations and trainings to the extent that the possibilities allow and the market accepts.

Especially when you consider the topics such as energy efficiency, climate change or environmental effects that have been talked about recently, what is technologically developing in the sector?

What is your work in this field as a company?

Energy consumption of air conditioners has been an important factor in recent years, this situation directs end users and investors to solutions that can be monitored and controlled remotely, as well as more efficient products. Especially in Europe, there are important developments in energy efficiency. In order for the Turkish air conditioning industry not to disappear in the European market, it needs to keep up with innovations.

Recently, efforts to reduce ozone-depleting products have accelerated around the world. The most notable development in terms of energy saving and reducing emissions, which came to the fore with global warming, was the increase in the use of gases with low global warming potential. One of the priorities of the global air conditioning industry, the Global Warning Potential (GWP) criteria became an important element of the industry.

Due to the effect of global warming, there is a worldwide change process in line with the goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and reducing costs in energy. This situation also directs the Turkish air conditioning industry.

With the change in the sector, it is certain that the technologies used today will soon be replaced by more environmentally friendly and energy efficient products. As a company, we continue our development activities in this regard.

What should the customers who want to procure products from you or another company pay attention to the most?

First of all, attention should be paid to the quality documents and certificates of the company that manufactures the product, the institutionality of the company, brand awareness, and most importantly, the quality and continuity of the product.

What do you do or what should be done in terms of training both your employees in your company and the authorized people in the companies you supply products?

We select employees who are qualified and willing to learn. By organizing in-house and supplier trainings, we aim to enable them to learn all the elements of the system and the product they sell, and to provide all necessary technical support to their customers.

Do you think the industry has problems with cooling system components?

I don't think so, because it is possible to find all the known brands in the world in our market.

When you think about the future of the refrigeration industry, what kind of Do you see potential?

According to (İSKİD) data; The market size of the global air conditioning industry, including heating, cooling, air conditioning and installation equipment, reached 181 billion dollars as of 2018. In 2023, the said size is expected to reach 251 billion dollars. Turkey, on the other hand, has a share of approximately 2.5 percent from the global market. If we turn to renewable energy, hybrid and low energy consumption systems, there is the potential to at least double the market share. In addition, the Turkish air conditioning sector has a large production capacity. In 2000, when split air conditioners were not produced in Turkey and there was only import; As of today, it is the leader in Europe in terms of production capacity and market size, especially in split air conditioners, with the production of four brands in the global market.

Our goal since 1996 is to remain one of the pioneers of the sector by adhering to the ethical principles of the sector and following the innovations.

Do you have a message that you would like to add to a subject or sector that you would like to add?

Our sector is a sector that requires effort, labor and education. It is necessary to make long-term planning by not thinking daily and to turn to the right products and markets.
