CASTEL: FUTURE PRODUCTS AND SOLUTIONS FOR LOW GWP COOLERS

Refrigerants with low GWP (global warming potential) and higher flammability properties are becoming increasingly popular and a necessity in all industries.

It is the result of the changes that occurred with the implementation of the Kigali Agreement and the change of the scope of the regulation, especially the ASHRAE 34-2016 standard.

Castel is responding to this historic change by launching two product lines to cover all applications: POLYHEDRA and GO GREEN.

First presented at the MCE Fair in 2018, the POLYHEDRA series has components suitable to meet the needs arising from the use of flammable refrigerants (HC, HFO and R32), such as high pressures and high compressor outlet temperatures. All this is done with the utmost attention to safety of use. In addition, POLYHEDRA allows to change the type of refrigerant used in the coming years without making any changes to the assembled components.

The GO GREEN line is dedicated to CO2 (R744) only, and at typical high pressures of this gas managed by connections made with high-performance materials such as K65 and stainless steel; Contains components designed to operate from 60 bar to 140 bar:

The product range for CO2 applications has recently been expanded with the addition of solenoid valves with 120 and 140 bar PS (1427E and 1428E see picture) and safety valves (3061E) with Pset up to 150 bar.

This line offers components suitable for all technological applications such as heat pumps, commercial refrigeration, private or industrial air conditioning systems, transportation.

With these new product lines, Castel stands out as the ideal supplier for all refrigeration and air-conditioning applications, regardless of the refrigerant used today or to be used in the coming years.

But sometimes it is necessary to go beyond catalog products. Castel technicians visit their partners' development and production sites, allowing their own skills to be utilized, enabling the identification and development of innovative solutions.

Therefore, for specific or non-catalogue uses, Castel can identify custom solutions designed in collaboration with customers to develop products optimized for the requested application.
